VILLAGE OF NAKUSP OFFICIAL COMMUNITY PLAN

The Village of Nakusp undertook an update of their Official Community Plan in 2019. B&A Planning Group, based in Calgary, AB, approached Selkirk Planning & Design to provide planning, engagement, urban design, and bring in local Working with B&A and Rynic, initial steps included a community tour with Council, and Council working sessions. At a community open house, Fraser provided engagement support, and was involved in a creative design process to identify land use needs. A second open house was held to reveal the “Big Moves” to the community.

Additional design work included the development of conceptual images to illustrate proposed policies. These conceptual images were a great way to demonstrate how OCP policies can encourage good design and placemaking.
