REVELSTOKE FOOD SECURITY STRATEGY

Selkirk Planning & Design was hired to develop Revelstoke’s first Food Security Strategy. The Strategy used Revelstoke’s recently adopted Food Charter as a guiding document for the vision, goals and objectives, refined and structured through the Food Security Steering Committee. SPD’s work included extensive research into other food security models that could work in Revelstoke. SPD did a thorough examination of Revelstoke’s current level of food security, led focus group discussions, public outreach and open houses and developed a set of prioritized recommendations that were coordinated with Revelstoke’s Integrated Community Sustainability Plan.
