REVELSTOKE ADVENTURE PARK REZONING

Situated on the back side of Revelstoke Mountain Resort in the area known as “Greely” to locals, the Revelstoke Adventure Park is an ambitious plan to develop a summer recreation tourism destination that would compliment the Resort’s summer offerings and the City of Revelstoke’s tourism attractions. On a combination of private and public land the 321 hectare property would be completed in phases that would include a village core, with shops and accommodation, as well as a bungee centre, mountain biking, ziplines, tree top adventure, and campground.

SPD identified suitable locations for a village base on the back side of Revelstoke Mountain Resort that will operate as a summer recreation area. The plan considers several environmental factors such as riparian areas, slope, valuable forested areas, developable land, and creating an experience of arrival into the village base. Selkirk Planning & Design saw the plan through the conceptual design phase through to a successful rezoning application.

The plan includes 5 intensive use areas: ziplines, tree top adventure, bungee centre, mountain bike area, and village base and campground area. The plan incorporates the natural environment into the village by identifying the least impact areas for village, maintaining views, maintaining native vegetation, and focusing on creating an experience as a priority.
